  1. Today was my second day in Haiti and so far it has been a crazy, amazing, eye opening experience. When we stepped out of the airport in Port Au Price, it was like stepping out into a different world. It was very humid and crowded in Port Au Prince. Peter and Linda met us with a bus and a very nice bus driver and we began our 6 hour journey to Proje Espwa! It was a long ride but once we made it, I felt very safe and comfortable. I have a comfortable bed and good friends to spend time with. Everyone at the quad and everyone working at the quad are very nice people. The food is amazing as well! This morning we went to the girls village to meet them all and it was my favorite part of the day. When the girls saw us coming, they all cheered and ran up to us, hugging us and wanting to be picked up and loved and hugged. There were also little baby boys with the girls who were probably around 1 year old and they loved to be held. I held a little boy and he fell asleep on my shoulder. I tried putting him down but he wouldn't let me. We made bracelets and painted nails with the girls and it was tough leaving them, even though we are going to see them again tomorrow. We also visited the boys village and watched them play soccer, which they are amazing at and just played with them and talked with the ones who spoke decent english. It is amazing how kids are the same all around the world. All the kids i visited with today just wanted attention and love and someone to play with. If i could give them everything in the world i would, but today all i could give them was my time and love for them. I am so glad that i decided to come on this trip. It is really one of the best experiences of my life and my journey has just begun. Can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings!

  2. Hi Ronnie, I am a friend of your grandmothers though Labs4Rescue and I hope you don't mind that she shared your blog link with me. I was a Peace Corps volunteer after college and one of my college roommates was from Haiti, so something like your trip is very interesting to me. It sounds like you are having a great time. Oh, my name is Allison and I look forward to reading more of your posts. Enjoy your time in Haiti.

  3. Hi sweetie pie, this is about my 8th time trying to send this to you and you know how patient I am! I'm anxious to read your blogs, I know Mr. Graff said there is a problem with the internet making it difficult for all of you to blog! My friend Allison is also following you, she was in the Peace Corp. Poppy and I miss you but know this is a wonderful experience for you! Love, Nonna
